On Diamars night at approximately 9:00 PM, a police patrol intercepted a white Mitsubishi Lancer sedan near Bright Bakery on Piedra Plat Road. The vehicle, which had tinted windows, contained three occupants. Following information about a potential threat circulating earlier in the day, the police had been on high alert and continued their patrols.
Upon stopping the vehicle, the police ordered all three occupants to step out and began conducting a search. During the search, they discovered a firearm wrapped in a dark cloth, which was seized and placed into the patrol vehicle.
Further investigation, assisted by the BFTO forensics team, revealed that the weapon was a fake firearm. Authorities have confirmed that the three individuals had previously made serious threats in the Paradera area, leading to their detention.
The Aruba Armed Threat Incident is now under investigation in connection with the serious threats made earlier that day.
