The Animal Welfare Alliance Aruba (AWAA) has announced another community campaign offering free sterilization and neutering services for pets belonging to low-income families across several neighborhoods.
From October 20 to November 1, 2025, AWAA will focus on assisting residents in De Vuyst, Noord/Jaburibari FCCA, Sabana Basora, and Pos Chiquito FCCA. The campaign aims to help families who cannot afford the cost of sterilizing or neutering their cats and dogs, reducing the growing number of unwanted puppies and kittens on the island.
Residents can register to have their pets picked up and returned by the AWAA team between 4:30 PM and 6:00 PM in each neighborhood.
- Sunday, October 19 – De Vuyst
- Monday, October 20 – Noord/Jaburibari FCCA
- Wednesday, October 22 – Sabana Basora
- Thursday, October 23 – Pos Chiquito FCCA
This initiative supports AWAA’s mission to control the overpopulation of stray animals and improve animal welfare conditions in Aruba.
If you wish to participate in the program and have your pet sterilized or neutered, please email help@awa-aruba.org or WhatsApp +297 592 9777 with the following details:
- Your full name and address
- Contact number
- Number of cats and dogs you own
- Gender of each pet (if known)
- Whether you can bring your pet yourself or need pickup assistance
An AWAA volunteer will contact you to arrange the best way to assist you and your pets.
