As previously reported by DIARIO, this year marks a special milestone for TUI fly Netherlands, as the airline celebrates 20 years of connecting Amsterdam and Aruba.

To commemorate this two-decade partnership between the Netherlands and “One Happy Island”, TUI organized a special celebration flight (“Feestvlucht”) on Monday, November 3, 2025, ahead of the official anniversary date.

The celebration began at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, where passengers enjoyed a festive send-off event. Those on board the commemorative flight experienced a joyful atmosphere from gate to cabin, complete with special surprises during the journey.

Since the start of operations in November 2005, TUI fly has been a key partner in linking the Dutch market with Aruba. The route operates once a week on Mondays, using a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with approximately 307 seats. Over the past two decades, this connection has contributed significantly to Aruba’s tourism development, facilitating cultural exchange and strengthening ties within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Jo-Anne Arends, Aviation Business Development Executive at Aruba Airport Authority (AAA), stated:

“TUI has proven to be a reliable and consistent partner in connecting Aruba with the Netherlands. This 20-year milestone is a testament to the strength of our alliance and the shared commitment to excellence. Over the years, TUI Fly has not only brought countless travelers and tourists to our island but has also supported the journeys of students, families, and professionals traveling between Aruba and Amsterdam. These connections have strengthened our community and deepened the bond between our island and the Netherlands. As we celebrate this remarkable achievement, we also look forward to continued growth, innovation, and sustainability in the decades ahead.”

TUI Fly remains committed to strengthening its operations across the Caribbean while promoting responsible and sustainable travel. Together with its local partners, the airline will continue to innovate, inspire, and ensure that visitors from the Netherlands experience the beauty and hospitality that define Aruba — the “One Happy Island.”
