Prime Minister Mike Eman has unveiled the official protected-monument plaque at a traditional cunucu house at Koningstraat 42 in Rancho, Oranjestad, arubaonline.news reported on October 16.
The ceremony was attended by family members, neighbors and the Aruba Monument Bureau (MBA). The house is part of an ensemble of three identical houses; heir Servin Loefstop traced its family history back to his great-grandmother.
More plaques coming
MBA interim director Raul Gei noted that several other historic homes are expected to receive their plaques in the coming days. The government is also discussing restoration-loan facilitation with banks and support from the SMFA.
