The second Autentico Student Seminar brought more than 125 EPI and EPB hospitality and gastronomy students together with experienced professionals from Aruba’s culinary, tourism and hospitality sectors.
Seminar presented a range of career paths
The Aruba Tourism Authority organized the educational program to introduce students to professional opportunities and the skills needed to build a career in the industries. According to 24ora, the seminar formed part of the Autentico Aruba Culinary Festival’s education and talent-development activities.
Speakers emphasized dedication, creativity, discipline and continuous learning while sharing examples from their own careers.
Four speakers shared practical experience
Artist and native-plant specialist Frank “Taki” Kelly discussed local plants, ingredients and the value of preserving knowledge passed between generations. Private chef Xalsky Schwengle spoke about consistency and long-term growth.
Renaissance Aruba culinary director Sebastian Cechet led an interactive session on flavor, aroma and texture. Remedi Corporation operations manager Jeison Ramirez, a former EPB student, discussed beverage techniques and the variety of careers available across the hospitality industry.
