Arubus and bus stop action is being sought by AVP Member of Parliament Carlos Bermudez, who wants clearer information and concrete solutions for public-transport users and employees.
According to reporting by NoticiaCla, Bermudez said bus shelters have reportedly arrived in Aruba but have not yet been installed.
Parliamentary briefing requested from Arubus
During the AVP faction’s weekly press conference, Bermudez said he would remind Transportation Minister Arthur Dowers about questions previously submitted concerning Arubus.
He also filed a request for Parliament to invite Arubus representatives so lawmakers can receive information directly about the company’s situation and the steps needed to reach a solution.
Company problems affect employees and passengers
Bermudez described the Arubus situation as a long-running problem. He said the previous government left a multimillion-florin debt to the company, while urging that the discussion move beyond the debt and lead to action before conditions worsen.
He emphasized that the consequences extend beyond Arubus employees to everyone who relies on public transportation each day.
Delayed shelters leave passengers waiting in the sun
Bermudez also asked why the reported bus shelters have not been installed. Some passengers must continue waiting in direct sunlight without adequate protection.
He said he plans to keep following both the Arubus situation and the shelter installations, with the goal of securing tangible improvements for employees and passengers.
