ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Aruba Swim Instructors received new technology and uniform support this week as Sports Minister Gerlien Croes delivered 20 tablets, laptop computers and assistance for new uniforms.
The equipment was presented Monday morning as part of an effort to strengthen and modernize swimming instruction across Aruba.
According to the ministry, the new devices are expected to give instructors additional tools to support their work and improve the way swimming lessons are delivered.
Aruba Swim Instructors Receive Technology
The Aruba Swim Instructors welcomed the new equipment, which includes 20 tablets as well as laptop computers.
The investment is intended to help modernize swimming instruction and provide instructors with technology that can assist them in carrying out their responsibilities.
Support was also provided for new uniforms for the instructors.
Minister Croes thanked the instructors for their continued work and wished them success as the new school year begins.
Minister Discusses Employment Status
Croes also addressed the employment situation of Aruba’s swimming instructors.
She said she is currently in discussions with the Department of Human Resources, known as DRH, regarding the instructors’ legal employment status.
According to the minister, the issue has remained unresolved for many years and needs to be formally addressed.
The discussions are intended to provide greater clarity regarding the position and working conditions of the instructors.
Croes thanked the Aruba Swim Instructors for their commitment and emphasized the importance of their work as swimming programs continue during the new academic year.
The combination of new technology, uniform support and discussions about employment conditions forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen swimming instruction and support the professionals responsible for teaching swimming skills in Aruba.
