ORANJESTAD (AAN) – FCCA Invites Aruba Community to Join National Clean-Up Day, encouraging residents across the island to participate in a nationwide neighbourhood cleanup taking place on Saturday, July 25, as part of the government’s National Day to Care for Aruba initiative.
During an interview with DIARIO, Shahyra Loefstok of FCCA described the campaign as a positive and much-needed initiative aimed at inspiring the community to take an active role in keeping Aruba clean.
Loefstok invited FCCA clients, as well as all residents of Aruba, to join the cleanup effort and take advantage of the opportunity to dispose of unwanted household items and waste free of charge at designated collection sites across the island.
She encouraged residents to clean around their homes and transport unwanted waste to the official disposal locations that will be available throughout the day.
“This is a national initiative and a wonderful opportunity because many residents do not have the means or the ability to transport and dispose of waste that has accumulated around their homes. This campaign provides a proper and free way for them to do so,” Loefstok said.
She also called on the community to work together to keep neighbourhoods clean by helping one another. Residents who own pickup trucks or other suitable vehicles were encouraged to assist neighbours who may not have transportation to bring their waste to the designated collection points.
According to Loefstok, the cleanup campaign also provides an important solution for reducing illegal dumping throughout the island.
By using the official waste collection locations responsibly, residents can help prevent the creation of illegal dumping sites while contributing to a cleaner, healthier, and more attractive Aruba for everyone.
Government officials hope the National Day to Care for Aruba will strengthen community involvement and encourage long-term environmental responsibility across the island.
