ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruba Annual Inflation Rises to 2.4% in June 2026, according to the latest figures released by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), reflecting a continued increase in consumer prices over the past year.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for June 2026 reached 111.98, representing a 0.1% increase compared with May 2026.
The annual inflation rate climbed to 2.4%, a notable increase from the 0.6% recorded during the same period a year earlier.
According to CBS, six of the twelve major spending categories recorded price increases during June.
The sectors contributing most to the monthly rise in consumer prices were:
- Furniture and Household Equipment: +5.0%
- Transport: +1.0%
- Miscellaneous Goods and Services: +1.1%
These categories were the primary drivers behind the overall increase in the Consumer Price Index.
Meanwhile, falling prices in other sectors helped offset part of the increase. The Communication category recorded the largest monthly decline, dropping 3.8%, while decreases in several other categories also helped moderate overall inflation.
CBS also reported that the average annual inflation rate over the past 24 months stands at 0.5%, lower than the 0.9% average recorded during the previous 24-month period.
The latest CPI figures indicate that while inflation remains moderate by historical standards, higher costs for household furnishings, transportation, and miscellaneous goods continue to influence consumer spending across Aruba.
