ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruba’s Minister of Justice, Integrity, Public Transport and Energy, Arthur Dowers, met with a large group of tour operators to discuss concerns over barriers placed along sections of the island’s north coast.

The meeting followed reports that tour operators had encountered barriers blocking access in several coastal areas, creating uncertainty for businesses and raising concerns about the impact on daily operations and visitors’ experiences.

During the discussion, representatives from tour companies shared their concerns and suggestions, while officials from the Department of Public Transport (DTP) listened to the issues raised and explored possible solutions.

The meeting was described as constructive, with all parties expressing a commitment to working together in the best interests of Aruba.

Participants agreed on the importance of balancing public safety, maintaining order, and reducing disturbances while ensuring the tourism sector can continue operating effectively and contributing to Aruba’s economy.

Minister Dowers thanked the tour operators for their cooperation and emphasized that ongoing dialogue between the government and the private sector is essential to achieving sustainable solutions that benefit both residents and visitors.
