Anchorage, Alaska – A new chapter in downtown Anchorage’s vibrant hospitality scene has begun with the opening of The Wildbirch Hotel on June 12, 2025. The first hotel under the JdV by Hyatt brand in Alaska, The Wildbirch Hotel offers a blend of comfort, community, and local flair, catering to both tourists and residents in the heart of the Mushing District.

Located on West Fourth Avenue, a bustling area known for its shopping, dining, and cultural attractions, The Wildbirch Hotel features 252 guest rooms, designed with modern amenities to provide a relaxing retreat for all types of travelers. The hotel’s design emphasizes community engagement and offers visitors a central location to explore the best of Anchorage, making it an ideal base for those seeking adventure in Alaska.

Dining and Amenities

The hotel boasts a variety of dining and recreational spaces to enhance the guest experience. Crimson, the signature restaurant led by Executive Chef La Mont Caldwell, offers a unique menu that combines local Alaskan ingredients with Pan-American Latin influences. Guests can enjoy the restaurant’s indoor and seasonal outdoor seating, or reserve a private dining space for up to 16 guests.

For a quick bite, Canteen Coffee Co., located in the hotel’s lobby, serves fresh coffee, juices, and grab-and-go food, available via a convenient walk-up window from the street.

Scheduled for a fall opening, The Undertap will be the hotel’s craft beer haven, offering a curated selection in collaboration with Midnight Sun Brewing Co. This venue will also include private event and meeting spaces.

Events and Meeting Space

The Wildbirch Hotel provides 5,200 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, ideal for corporate gatherings, weddings, or community events. The hotel is designed to serve as a hub for both business and leisure, with spaces that cater to different group sizes and event needs.

Supporting Downtown Anchorage’s Revitalization

The opening of The Wildbirch Hotel is part of a larger initiative to revitalize downtown Anchorage. Mark Begich and Sheldon Fisher, co-owners of the hotel through MASH, LLC, have played a key role in this effort, with the property being managed by Springboard Hospitality, renowned for operating boutique lifestyle hotels.

With the arrival of The Wildbirch Hotel, Hyatt’s JdV brand makes its debut in Alaska, bringing a new level of hospitality to the region. Whether you’re visiting for business or leisure, The Wildbirch Hotel offers a fresh take on Alaskan charm and style.
