A new Aruba Oranjestad security camera system has been introduced to strengthen safety and protection in the capital’s downtown area. The Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safe, attractive, and high-quality destination for both residents and visitors through its support of the Downtown Oranjestad Security & Safety Initiative.

Downtown Oranjestad, known as the historical and commercial heart of Aruba, plays a key role in the island’s economy and tourism. Investments in safety and security are considered essential to support the ongoing revitalization of the area, encourage local business growth, and preserve Aruba’s reputation as a secure destination.

The newly installed Aruba Oranjestad security camera system, along with a public-address speaker system, is designed to help prevent incidents, allow faster response during emergencies, and improve communication with the public when needed. According to A.T.A., public safety is a crucial part of the overall visitor experience, and a secure environment increases confidence among both locals and tourists.

The initiative is led by the Oranjestad Business Improvement Zone (OBIZ) in collaboration with A.T.A. and the Government of Aruba. The system was recently completed and installed at several strategic locations throughout downtown Oranjestad.

The project was carried out by Prorisk Security Management N.V. (Bossi Security) in close cooperation with local businesses and merchants. The system includes 41 new security cameras, 10 network-connected public speakers, and integration with existing infrastructure. All systems are connected to a 24/7 Monitoring Center, ensuring continuous surveillance and rapid response capabilities.

The Cuerpo Policial Aruba (KPA) has also been involved in the initiative and has welcomed the project as a positive step toward improving safety and protection in the city center.

Through its support, A.T.A. continues to work closely with both public and private partners to enhance quality of life, strengthen destination security, and ensure that Aruba remains a place where safety and hospitality go hand in hand.
