ORANJESTAD (AAN): This is the Last Week to Register for Poeta di Patria 2026 in Aruba, as the Comision Celebracion Dianan Nacional (CCDN), together with the Comision di Arte di Palabra, officially reminds the community that the registration deadline is fast approaching.
The Comision di Arte di Palabra consists of the Departamento di Cultura Aruba (DCA) and the Fundacion Corector di Papiamento (FCP). Together, they are organizing the prestigious competition to select Aruba’s Poeta di Patria for 2026.
This year’s edition is especially meaningful, as Aruba will celebrate 50 years of its National Anthem and Flag, as well as 40 years of Status Aparte. These historic milestones make the 2026 competition an important cultural event for the island.
Organizers are inviting all writers, poets, and declaimers aged 18 and older to search their hearts for inspiration and compose their best tribute poem in Papiamento dedicated to Aruba, its culture, and its identity. Participation in the Last Week to Register for Poeta di Patria 2026 in Aruba campaign is seen as a significant contribution to national pride and the upcoming celebrations.
The final day to register and submit entries is March 6, 2026. Participants are reminded that this deadline is firm.
The official Poeta di Patria 2026 competition will take place on March 14, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Nicolaas Store in San Nicolas. Registered participants will be required to present their work during the event. If an author cannot personally present their poem, another individual may do so on their behalf.
Each writer may submit only one poem. The poem must be written in Papiamento and consist of four to five stanzas. Each stanza must contain four lines and may include rhyme.
