Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort Guests Donate Nearly 470 Kilos of Supplies to Kinderhuis Imeldahof

Thanks to the generosity of its guests, Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort donated a total of 469.79 kilograms (1,035.71 pounds) of supplies to Kinderhuis Imeldahof during 2025. The donated items included clothing, books, educational materials, creative supplies, and toys, all benefiting children living at the children’s home.

The initiative is part of the resort’s ongoing partnership with Pack for a Purpose, a global responsible tourism movement that encourages travelers to use extra space in their luggage to bring essential supplies to local nonprofit organizations.

Participation is simple: guests select items from a wish list, pack them in their luggage, and hand them over upon arrival at the resort. Bucuti & Tara then coordinates the direct delivery of the donated items to Kinderhuis Imeldahof. Guests interested in participating can find more information through the Pack for a Purpose page on Bucuti & Tara’s official website.

“This is a meaningful achievement that reflects the generosity of our guests who choose to travel with purpose,” said Ewald Biemans, founder and owner of Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort. “Every book, piece of clothing, and supply brought to our resort becomes a gesture of solidarity that offers support, inspiration, and opportunity to the children of Kinderhuis Imeldahof. We are deeply grateful to every guest who made space in their suitcase to support Aruba’s next generation.”

Mirta R. Leon, interim director and coordinator of Kinderhuis Imeldahof, also expressed appreciation: “On behalf of Kinderhuis Imeldahof, we sincerely thank all Bucuti & Tara guests who participated in Pack for a Purpose during 2025. These donations represent far more than supplies — they bring encouragement, dignity, and hope to our children, reminding them that they are seen, valued, and cared for.”

Guest participation continues to grow each year. While 456.94 kilograms of supplies were donated in 2024, the total increased to 469.79 kilograms in 2025, demonstrating a steady rise in engagement and generosity. This growth highlights Bucuti & Tara’s continued commitment to conscious and sustainable tourism in Aruba.

Kinderhuis Imeldahof provides a safe and supportive environment for children who are temporarily unable to remain in their family homes. Donations received through Pack for a Purpose help strengthen daily care, educational development, and emotional well-being. For many children, these items symbolize stability, dignity, and reassurance.

Books encourage reading and imagination, clothing and footwear support physical well-being, creative materials foster self-expression, and toys promote social development and a sense of belonging. Each contribution plays a role in improving the quality of life for the children and investing in Aruba’s future.

The partnership between Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort and Pack for a Purpose also supports several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, aligning with the resort’s more than 400 sustainability action points — a model internationally recognized by the United Nations.

As a pioneer in sustainable and responsible tourism in Aruba, Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort remains dedicated to supporting the local community it calls home, ensuring that the positive impact of each guest’s stay extends far beyond the shores of Eagle Beach.
