Following the recent drawing of names for Carnival stall locations, work has officially begun to mark the designated vendor spots along the Carnival route. Crews from the Department of Public Works (DOW) and the Department of Infrastructure and Planning (DIP) started early Monday morning, beginning at Cas di Cultura and continuing toward Vondellaan. The next phase will extend along L.G. Smith Boulevard heading south.

According to DOW representative Daryl Lue, the marking process is expected to take three to four days to complete.

Officials from the Bureau City Inspector (BCI) were also present during the initial phase. Authorities immediately noted that some individuals had already begun marking areas using chains, benches, tape, and other materials. DIP clarified that placing obstacles on public roads is prohibited, as it can create safety hazards for pedestrians and road users. As a result, all unauthorized markings were removed.

DOW, DIP, and BCI confirmed that strict monitoring will continue throughout the Carnival season.

Lue emphasized that the public should not mark any areas outside the officially designated zones, particularly beyond Linear Park, which has been reserved specifically for stall placement. Each approved stall location will be clearly marked with a corresponding number, allowing stall holders to identify their exact spot and informing the public where marking is not permitted.

Additionally, DOW will be installing boundary markers to indicate how far vendors may extend their setup, ensuring no encroachment beyond approved areas.
