ORANJESTAD (AAN): Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, the only carbon-neutral certified hotel in the Caribbean, welcomed the arrival of 2026 with a spectacular drone show over Eagle Beach, replacing traditional fireworks with a quieter, more sustainable, and environmentally responsible alternative.

In collaboration with Drone Shows Aruba, the resort invited both guests and members of the local community to enjoy a breathtaking midnight presentation that transformed the night sky into a moving canvas of color, motion, and storytelling. For the second consecutive year, Bucuti & Tara demonstrated that celebrations and cultural moments can be impactful without coming at the expense of the planet.

As the countdown reached zero, large crowds gathered along the shoreline to witness the animated performance celebrating renewal, love, and unity. The show concluded with a radiant aerial finale, marking the New Year in an atmosphere filled with admiration, gratitude, and hope.

“New Year’s is a moment to reflect on what we have shared and what we dream for the year ahead,” said Crescenzia Biemans, Managing Director of Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, Aruba. “But it is also a time to ask ourselves what kind of future we are celebrating—and how we are protecting it. We are proud to make the drone show an annual tradition because protecting Aruba’s skies, seas, nature, animals, and people means finding new ways to celebrate that respect both our culture and our collective well-being. Progress does not diminish tradition; it ensures it can endure and evolve responsibly.”

For Bucuti & Tara, the drone show was more than entertainment—it was a powerful expression of unity, community pride, and commitment to a sustainable future. Around the world, awareness is growing about the environmental and social impacts of fireworks, including air pollution, water contamination, and harmful noise levels that affect wildlife, pets, children, seniors, and people with disabilities.

Drone shows leave no explosive chemicals or smoke, produce minimal noise, and generate almost no waste. The drones are reusable and return safely to base after each performance, making them a long-term, responsible alternative to fireworks.

This decision reflects Bucuti & Tara’s nearly 40-year commitment to sustainability, including initiatives such as the Bucuti & Tara – GMC Nature Preserve and the nonprofit Stimami Sterilisami, which focuses on the sterilization of stray dogs and cats.

The New Year’s drone show was warmly received by guests and the local community, serving as a reminder that celebrations can evolve. Bucuti & Tara looks forward to continuing this annual tradition in partnership with innovators like Drone Shows Aruba, creating unforgettable moments that honor what makes Aruba truly special—its people, natural beauty, flora and fauna, and the shared responsibility to protect them.
