During Busy “Super Sunday” at Queen Beatrix International Airport
Prime Minister Mike Eman and Minister of Tourism Wendrick Cicilia visited Queen Beatrix International Airport on Sunday to personally thank all personnel who delivered exceptional service during one of the airport’s busiest days, known as “Super Sunday.”
The visit followed a challenging Saturday when almost no international flights arrived. On Sunday afternoon, however, Aruba experienced a significant surge in air traffic, with a high volume of incoming and outgoing flights.
Both government officials met with and expressed their appreciation to staff from the Airport Authority, Customs, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Marechaussee, Border Police, Immigration, Horeca, Duty Free, and all other airport partners for their tireless efforts and outstanding dedication throughout the day.
During Super Sunday, more than 17,000 passengers were processed efficiently and professionally, demonstrating strong teamwork, commitment, and hospitality. The local teams once again proved that they are truly the backbone of Aruba’s tourism industry — serving as both the first and last impression visitors experience when arriving on and departing from the island.
The Government of Aruba expressed deep gratitude for the continued hard work and passion shown by all airport personnel, day after day, in keeping Aruba welcoming, safe, and efficient.
