Aruba recently hosted the 53rd edition of the Festival di Dande, Adult Sequence, a vibrant celebration of tradition, culture, and national pride. The festival took place on December 21, 2025, at Plaza Inmaculada Curazon di Maria, with free entry for the public who came to support each participant.

The Festival di Dande is an iconic cultural event that strengthens and passes down the Dande tradition from generation to generation. This year’s edition featured multiple Dande groups performing traditional and original compositions, delivered by adult singers and musicians with extensive experience and a deep passion for Aruba’s cultural heritage.

Prime Minister and Minister of Culture Mike Eman attended the event, which included performances by groups such as Tipico Colegio Arubano, Tipico Ayo, Sabor Criollo, Enkura, Alma Folklorico, and Los Hermanos. The festival showcased both traditional and original Dande compositions, including “Bendiciona,” “Carmelita,” “Potpourri Alma,” “Stop di Papia, Wak Bo Hasi,” and “Di Nos Eta.”

The festival is not only a musical celebration but also highlights Aruba’s history, identity, and community unity. It is part of ongoing efforts to preserve and promote the island’s intangible cultural heritage.

The 2025 edition welcomed families to sing, celebrate, and enjoy the tradition together. At the end of the evening, the Minister of Culture crowned Robert Maduro and Maria Elena Croes as King and Queen of Dande, recognizing their outstanding performances.

Festival di Dande continues to keep Aruba’s cultural traditions alive and serves as a symbol of national pride.
