Pension Increase Becomes a Reality in Every Aruban Household

The long-awaited pension increase has become a reality for seniors across Aruba. Minister President Mike Eman, who has consistently emphasized the need to improve pensions for the elderly, confirmed that the government’s commitment is now implemented, bringing tangible benefits to households across the island.

On his social media, Minister President Eman stated:
“A heartfelt embrace to all our seniors. A year ago, we made a promise to increase pensions, and today that promise is fulfilled. We first implemented a 250 AWG increase, and now an additional 250 AWG follows. Our seniors have carried Aruba on their shoulders for many years – working hard, raising families, preserving our values and culture, and contributing to the Aruba we are proud of today. With this increase, single pensioners will receive a total increase of 500 AWG per month, and couples will see an increase of 900 AWG per month.”

The combined implementation of the AOV pension increase and reparatietoeslag ensures that pensions rise significantly between January 2025 and January 2026. This initiative reflects a long-term vision for a more humane and fair Aruba.

  • Pensioner couples: +AWG 900 per month
  • Partial couples’ pension: +AWG 485 per month

Minister President Eman emphasized that a nation that does not honor its elders risks losing its memory and direction. This pension increase is part of a broader approach to shared prosperity, social security, and responsible governance, ensuring dignity, peace, and well-being for Aruba’s seniors.
