Pensioner Wants to Know If Government Will Honor the Two Afl. 250 Reparatie Toeslag Adjustments This Year

An SVb pensioner reached out to DIARIO after unsuccessfully trying to contact the SVb Pension Section last Friday. The pensioner wants clarity on whether the Government—specifically the Prime Minister and Minister Geoffrey Wever—will fulfill their promise to provide an additional Afl. 250 Reparatie Toeslag adjustment this December 2025.

According to earlier statements made during the election campaign, pensioners were told they would receive a total of Afl. 750 in reparative adjustments, of which one portion has already been paid.

The pensioner says there has been no further communication regarding the remaining amount. Recently, SVb posted a video on its Facebook page explaining that all pensioners will receive their annual pension bonus on December 1st, alongside their regular AOV payment. However, the video made no reference to the Reparatie Toeslag adjustment that government officials previously announced months ago.

The pensioner recalls that another minister, Gerlien, also mentioned the adjustment earlier in the year.

He questioned:
“If the government can pay a new airport director over a million florins per year, how can it be so difficult to honor the promised Afl. 750 adjustment for AOV pensioners? They already paid the first portion—why not the rest?”

The pensioner hopes the government will respond before December 1st so that AOV recipients can know whether they will receive the promised amount.
