The Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) and the Foundation Run in the Sun, the organizer of the KLM Aruba Marathon, have recently signed a three-year sponsorship agreement, ensuring the continuation of the event through 2026, 2027, and 2028.
The agreement was officially signed by Ronella Croes, CEO of ATA, and Kees van Muiswinkel, founder and president of the KLM Aruba Marathon. This renewed partnership highlights the shared dedication of both organizations to promoting Aruba as a leading destination for sports and wellness tourism.
“We are deeply grateful to the Aruba Tourism Authority for their continued trust, support, and professional collaboration,” said Kees van Muiswinkel. “Together, we strive to enhance the quality and visibility of the KLM Aruba Marathon each year, offering runners from Aruba and around the world an unforgettable experience on One Happy Island.”
Since its launch in 2018, the KLM Aruba Marathon has become one of the island’s most popular sports events, attracting thousands of runners and supporters from more than 40 countries. The event features multiple race categories — including the full marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K — showcasing Aruba’s stunning coastline, warm hospitality, and vibrant atmosphere.
The extended sponsorship further strengthens Aruba’s position as a destination that values health, active tourism, and international collaboration.
The next KLM Aruba Marathon will take place on Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7, 2026, with registration already open. Participants from 17 countries have already signed up, and organizers expect over 2,750 runners from 40 countries to join.
The marathon is officially certified by both the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and the World Athletics Federation, solidifying its reputation as a world-class international race.
