The E.J. Watty Vos Police Academy was filled with family, friends, and colleagues during a special ceremony marking graduation, swearing-in, and certificate presentations. The event was attended by Minister of Justice Arthur Dowers, Prosecutor General Amalin Flanegin, Police Commissioner Ramon Arnhem, as well as police leadership, staff, and academy personnel.

During the ceremony:

  • 20 graduates of the N4-2021 class received their MBO Police diplomas, completing four years of intensive training, legal studies, and preparation to officially serve the community as police officers.
  • The N4-2023 class took their official oath of service before the Minister of Justice, marking an important step as they continue their police training.
  • 10 members from both the KPA (Korps Politie Aruba) and the Landsrecherche received their official Sub-Fiscal certificates.
  • 9 instructors from the academy successfully completed the “Leren les Geven” (Learn to Teach) course and were awarded their teaching certificates.

The Aruba Police Force expressed pride in the accomplishments of its new officers and staff, while also thanking families for their support, which was described as essential to the graduates’ success.

The ceremony highlighted the academy’s commitment to professional growth, knowledge, and career development, underscoring that greater knowledge means greater progress both personally and for Aruba’s law enforcement as a whole.

The Aruba Police congratulated all graduates and wished them success in their future careers, recognizing this milestone as an important step in strengthening the safety and well-being of the island’s community.
