When July rolls around in San Pedro, Belize, it doesn’t begin with fireworks—it begins with lobster. The 2025 edition of the San Pedro Lobster Festival kicks off on July 1, ushering in nearly two weeks of lobster-themed celebrations that bring together locals, travelers, chefs, and bartenders from around the world for a unique Caribbean experience.

The festival starts with the Lobster Crawl, a fun and flavorful event that takes partygoers to various bars and restaurants across San Pedro. From July 1–12, each venue offers its own take on lobster—whether it’s grilled tails, ceviche, or lobster-infused cocktails. The event is passport-style, encouraging participants to collect stamps at different spots while indulging in lobster dishes and drinks. It’s a true celebration of the island’s culinary culture and an immersive experience in San Pedro’s vibrant community.

The Heart of the Festival: The Block Party

The festival peaks with the highly anticipated Block Party on July 12, held on Tarpon Street. This open-air celebration features live music, dancing, and a grand prize raffle—all accompanied by the unmistakable aroma of fire-grilled lobster. The streets come alive as steel drums echo over the water, with revelers dancing barefoot on the hot pavement. It’s a joyful, colorful event that captures the essence of San Pedro.

Lobster Fest: More Than Just Food

Lobster Fest in San Pedro is much more than just lobster. It’s about community, culture, and the rhythm of the island. The chefs bring their A-game, competing to create the best lobster dishes, while bartenders strive to find the perfect pairing. Visitors and locals alike come together to share in the island’s festive spirit.

Stay Close to the Action

For those who want to stay close to the action, Alaia Belize is the perfect place to stay. Located just a short walk or golf cart ride from the heart of the festivities, it offers guests both comfort and convenience. The resort’s concierge team is available to assist with transportation, local recommendations, and event planning to ensure that guests make the most of their Lobster Fest experience.

Whether you’re drawn to the food, the music, or the lively atmosphere, Lobster Fest from July 1 to 12 is a must-visit event in Belize. It’s a celebration of island life, where lobster isn’t just a dish, but the heart of a vibrant community tradition.
