Boardwalk Boutique Hotel Aruba has been awarded Two MICHELIN Keys by the 2025 MICHELIN Guide, making it the first hotel in Aruba to receive the distinction. It now joins a shortlist of Caribbean properties recognized in the inaugural MICHELIN Keys program.
Out of more than 7,000 hotels evaluated worldwide, only 572 earned Two Keys—reserved for stays deemed exceptional for their strong identity, sense of place, and consistently high service standards.
Founded in 2011 by Kimberly and Stephanie Rooijakkers, Boardwalk evolved from a modest surf retreat into a boutique property with 49 casitas set on a former coconut plantation, a short walk from Palm Beach. The hotel’s design, personalized service, and deep connection to local culture helped it stand out.
MICHELIN’s new Keys highlight character and cultural connection over size or star ratings. For Aruba, the award boosts the island’s profile in luxury travel; for Boardwalk, it marks a locally owned hotel competing among the world’s top names in hospitality
