Jessica Maduro-Irausquin, Human Resources Manager at Stichting Katholiek Onderwijs Aruba (SKOA), shared in an interview with Diario Matutino that last week SKOA began its annual Educational Week, which concluded over the weekend with the SKOA Education Congress 2025. The event was dedicated to supporting teachers in their professional growth, ensuring that everything they learned during the congress will be applied immediately in their classrooms.
“It’s very important for our teachers to stay up to date with the latest innovations and continue developing professionally,” said Maduro-Irausquin. “Through our collaboration with Erasmus Plus, teachers are exposed to new learning opportunities. These international training sessions help them make their lessons more engaging and relevant to today’s world.”
The congress focused on teaching strategies and classroom engagement, exploring ways for educators to better connect with students and improve lesson delivery. “The method remains the same — it’s about how you present the material so that students truly understand it,” she added.
She also highlighted that the congress provided teachers with practical tools to implement in their classrooms. “These are tools brought in by experts for teachers to apply directly in their daily lessons. This marks the eighth edition of the congress, organized in partnership with long-time collaborators. We’re deeply grateful to the entire SKOA team and all partners involved for making this event a success,” Maduro-Irausquin said.
