On Monday morning, the Department of Taxes (DIMP) held a press conference where Public Relations Officer Meverly Romano provided an overview of the MRB project, which refers to the Motor Vehicle Tax (Impuesto di Vehiculo di Motor).
Romano explained that the project began in December and was designed to ensure the structured and efficient distribution of the new 2025–2029 vehicle license plates. Learning from past experiences—when thousands of people would rush to collect plates at once—DIMP introduced a new appointment system to better manage the process.
Under the system, clients schedule appointments online, upload their required documents digitally, and DIMP staff review them in advance. An administrative team then processes the paperwork, while a separate team at the annex building prepares and packages the plates daily for distribution.
Romano emphasized that this structured approach has reduced congestion and improved service efficiency. She also highlighted the role of DIMP’s Communication Department in coordinating the appointments and addressing any customer inquiries that arose.
The initiative reflects DIMP’s commitment to streamlining public services and ensuring residents can obtain their plates in a timely and organized manner.
