Welcome to Part 2 of our A-to-Z guide on unforgettable experiences in Aruba! In this section, we explore I to Q—covering everything from iconic landmarks and thrilling water sports to local music festivals and natural marvels.

I – I Love Aruba Signs

No Aruba vacation is complete without a photo at the iconic “I Love Aruba” signs. These vibrant displays are perfect for snapping memories:

  • Main Sign: Next to Renaissance Hotel in Oranjestad

  • Hi-Rise Sign: In front of Riu and Hilton Resorts

  • Village Mall Sign: Inside Palm Beach’s Village Mall

  • Portable Signs: Often found along L.G. Smith Blvd, especially near Malmok Beach

Snap a selfie and share your Aruba love with the world!

J – Jamanota

Contrary to popular belief, Mount Jamanota—not Hooiberg—is Aruba’s highest point at 620 ft (188 m). Located in Arikok National Park, Jamanota offers scenic views, native flora, and wildlife like wild goats, donkeys, and parakeets. Hike to the summit for panoramic vistas of the island.

K – Kite Surfing

Thanks to Aruba’s consistent trade winds, the island is a paradise for kite and windsurfing. Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned pro, local kiteboarding schools offer lessons and gear rentals. Don’t miss the Hi-Winds Pro-Am Grand Prix World Cup, held every June—a major windsurfing and kiteboarding event!

L – Lighthouse (California Lighthouse)

Located on the northern tip of the island, the California Lighthouse has stood since 1916. It offers sweeping views of Aruba’s rugged coastline and sand dunes. Drive up or book a tour that includes this historic site. While you’re there, enjoy a meal with a view at El Faro Blanco Restaurant nearby.

M – Music Festivals

Aruba hosts exciting music festivals throughout the year:

  • Flip Flop Festival: A beachside celebration of reggae and dance music (March/April)

  • Electric Festival: The Caribbean’s biggest electronic music fest, attracting 10,000+ fans each September

Want to see what’s happening during your stay? Check out Aruba’s events calendar.

N – Natural Pool

Located in Arikok National Park, the Natural Pool is one of Aruba’s most stunning hidden gems. Formed by volcanic rock, this protected cove is ideal for a refreshing swim or snorkel. Just bring water shoes—the rocks can be slippery—and always check tide conditions before entering.

Getting There: Access requires a 4×4 vehicle or joining a guided tour. Tours often include other park highlights, making for a perfect day of adventure.

O – Oranjestad

Aruba’s charming capital city, Oranjestad, is a lively hub of shopping, dining, and culture. Explore the renovated Main Street (Caya Grandi), filled with local shops, eateries, and vibrant architecture. Stop by the Renaissance Mall for luxury brands or relax at waterfront cafes after browsing the markets.

Stay tuned for Part 3 (R to Z), where we’ll explore even more exciting things to do—from Renaissance Island and snorkeling to yoga and Aruba’s vibrant wildlife scene.
